Zach Wilson not ruled out by the Jets for Week 1: “It’s conceivable”

Zach Wilson, the New York Jets’ starting quarterback, might suit up against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1.

The team’s second-year quarterback, who tore his meniscus during the first preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, received an update from head coach Robert Saleh. Wilson underwent surgery and has since been in rehabilitation; things are obviously going well.

“Well, Zach received a workout today. Saleh told reporters, “I felt terrific and I looked nice. Tomorrow and today, we’ll monitor the knee’s response, and on Wednesday, I’ll have an answer for everyone.

Saleh answered “It’s possible” when asked if it was likely that Wilson will be active on Sunday.

Everyone recovers differently, according to Saleh, thus it is always feasible for a player to recover more quickly than others despite having the same injury.

If Wilson is indeed fit to play in Week 1, this will be a huge boost for the Jets, who are hoping to make a big leap this year. General manager Joe Douglas is working tirelessly to provide Wilson the offensive line protection and tools he needs.

Wilson is now undergoing rehabilitation, thus veteran Joe Flacco is anticipated to start for Gang Green in Week 1.

Ahead of the NFL season opener, Jets rookie sauce Gardner talks about his “natural” business venture.

In spite of having a strong performance against the Miami Dolphins in 2021, Flacco fell to them in spite of appearing in just two games (one start) during his two seasons with the Jets. In the 24-17 loss, he completed 24 of 39 passes for 291 yards and two touchdowns.
