Kanye West’s rep confirms that Kanye West has been barred from performing at the Grammys.

According to his rep, Kanye West’s performance at the forthcoming Grammy Awards has been canceled due to his recent internet posts.

The Recording Academy, which organizes the program, has not responded to E! News’ request for comment. Kanye West, who is nominated for five Grammys, has never been confirmed to perform at the 2022 show, which is due to take place on April 3.

Kanye’s representative verified to E! News a March 18 report from “The Blast,” which quoted sources close to Ye as stating that the Donda rapper’s team received a phone call that evening informing him that he had been dropped from the Grammys program.

Insiders say the show is “sadly” taking this stance “because to what they believe to be disturbing internet activity,” according to the website. The decision was taken partly because Trevor Noah is hosting the ceremony, and there was concern over the two men’s contact during the performance, according to “The Blast.”

A representative for the social network’s parent company, Meta, confirmed to CNN that Kanye was removed from Instagram for 24 hours this week after making a racial insult addressed at Noah. According to E! News, Ye was suspended because he broke the company’s hate speech, bullying, and harassment regulations. He made the post after the host discussed the rapper’s recent contentious posts against his ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend Pete Davidson on the show “The Daily Show.”

“What I see from the situation is a woman who wants to live her life without being hounded by an ex-boyfriend, an ex-husband, or an ex-anything,” Trevor said on The Daily Show in response to Ye’s inflammatory post about him.

Noah also showed concern for Kanye. “It crushes my heart to see you like this,” he said, adding that he believes the rapper is “on a perilously near path to disaster and pain.” Trevor’s comments have elicited no response from Ye.

Meanwhile, in the wake of Kanye’s Grammys cancellation, fellow rapper The Game defended him on Instagram with a graphic that says, “When will all the BLACK celebrities, Athletes, Actors, Producers, Writers, Directors, Media, etc…figure it out?”

“As if we didn’t know it was coming, the Grammys have decided to withdraw @kanyewest from performing on the event at the last minute,” he wrote. “Could be because @trevornoah is hosting and there was a discussion among his team and the academy that led to the decision, or because Ye’s account was suspended just days ago for unknown reasons, especially in a world where all of the world’s negativity can be found on the same app with no repercussions or suspensions.”

“We’ll just say it’s all of the above & a constant disregard for us & all we’ve brought to the table in entertainment, media, and sports over the last 100 years especially,” he continued.
