Frank Reich and Steve Wilks are given second interviews by the Panthers

The second round of interviews has begun for the position of head coach for the Carolina Panthers, and it has begun with two individuals.

The team has already had its second meeting with Steve Wilks, as was originally reported on Wednesday morning by NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. During the previous season, Wilks was Carolina’s temporary head coach.

In Matt Rhule’s stead, Wilks took a dejected 1-4 squad and made them a serious NFC South title candidate. Even after losing their star running back Christian McCaffrey, the Panthers managed a respectable 6-6 record under the 53-year-old native of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Pelissero continued by saying that Frank Reich will be contacted by the group today.

Reich most recently led the Indianapolis Colts after playing quarterback with the Panthers in 1995. The 61-year-old, who amassed a record of 40-33-1 in Indianapolis, was fired nine games into the 2022 campaign.

Oh, and a third candidate might be getting another chance shortly.
