‘You bums’: Klay livid with ‘doo doo’ 2K for 3-point rating

What do Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant, Los Angeles Clippers guard Luke Kennard, and Memphis Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane all have in common? W

In NBA 2K23, Klay Thompson’s 3-point shooting rating is shared by all of them. Thompson isn’t pleased about it, to put it mildly.

The Splash Bro vented his anger at the video game maker in a since-deleted Instagram story, calling them “clowns” and “bums.”
With a perfect rating of 99, Steph Curry, the other Splash Bro, naturally ranks first among 3-point shooters.
Additionally, with ratings of 88, Thompson, Bane, Durant, and Kennard are all 11 points behind Curry.

Curry’s ranking didn’t surprise anyone because he is the god of the three-point shot. However, despite missing 941 days of action due to back-to-back injuries, Thompson’s ranking ought to be more accurate given the history he has created from behind the arc.

Golden State made five consecutive NBA Finals appearances and won three of them thanks in large part to Thompson’s big-time treys in pivotal playoff situations. Oh, and after a great comeback this season, his accuracy helped the Warriors capture their fourth championship in eight years.

And here is a reminder for anyone who needs it. In 2016, Thompson erupted for 60 points in just 29 minutes. Or about when a single game had 14 triples, making NBA history? What about the third quarter of the Warriors’ 126-101 victory over the Sacramento Kings on January 23, 2015, when he scored an incredible 37 points, shattering the NBA record for most points in a quarter?
