Machel Montano unleashes a tremendous remix of “Shake The Place” with Nicki Minaj to start off Carnival Friday.

Rapper Nicki Minaj, real name Onika Tanya Maraj, was born in Trinidad and is best recognized for her musical variety, lively flows, personas, and accents. She is one of the best-selling musicians, having sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. Together with Rihanna, she is one of just two female musicians to have eight music videos that have had more than one billion views on YouTube. The Machel and Destra collaboration “Shake The Place” has gained popularity in the months leading up to Trinidad Carnival 2023, and the release of the remix with Nicki Minaj is expected to spread the song’s popularity around the globe.

Machel will perform “One Show” on Carnival Friday at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, to commemorate his 40 years in the music industry.

The show includes performances from a big roster of international singers, including Wizkid, Rema, and Ayra Starr, as well as a large contingent of Soca artists.
