The four-track project includes the album version of the song from 2009’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel as well as a remix featuring Mary J. Blige that was previously released as a bonus track on 2014’s Me. I’m Mariah… The song is available as The Elusive Chanteuse, a TikTok-friendly sped-up version, and a new three-minute edit.

The release of the EP follows Mimi’s transformation of the fan favorite into a viral smash through the “It’s a Wrap” TikTok challenge she started following the start of the new year. The challenge not only gave “It’s a Wrap” a huge streaming boost, garnering more than one million weekly streams as of the beginning of February, but it also gave Carey a dose of post-holiday joy as she watched thousands of Lambs lip-synch to the song.

Before the kiss-unanticipated off’s comeback, the singer-songwriter finished off yet another holiday season by returning “All I Want for Christmas Is You” to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for four straight weeks from the middle of December to the start of January. The modern Christmas anthem topped the charts for the fourth straight year after becoming Carey’s twentieth No. 1 single of her career in 2019.
