Adesanya won the Middleweight Title at UFC 243 from Robert Whittaker, who had a cursed title reign full of injuries and opponents not making weight. However, Whittaker has calmly dispatched three opponents since losing to Adesanya forcing a rematch with the current champion. This fight is almost three years in the making and will be a landmark one for the future of the division.
