For escalating the penile implant controversy, 50 Cent demands both an apology and compensation from The Shade Room. According to court documents acquired, 50 Cent has sued Perfection Plastic Surgery & MedSpa and The Shade Room (again). In the documents, it is said that “this case involves the exploitation of a well-known musician and businessman’s act of goodwill by an unethical business owner for her personal financial advantage, and by a gossip tabloid intent on driving clicks and ad revenue at the expense of the truth.”

Angela Kogan, the owner of Perfection Plastic Surgery, is accused by 50 Cent of stealing a picture of him to use to advertise her firm while making the false claim that he had undergone their treatments. According to him now, The Shade Room advanced the narrative by reposting it and exposing him to “ridicule.” “50 Cent, may I see the before and after pics?” is one of the comments on the post. According to 50 Cent and his legal team, TSR committed a blatant act of defamation by posting the article and falsely alleging or implying that Jackson had undergone operations from Kogan or MedSpa, or the penile augmentation or other procedures outlined in the article. Because TSR believed it was publishing Jackson’s personal medical information, which is neither newsworthy nor of general interest, the piece was extremely outrageous. Kogan and MedSpa are now claiming that Jackson’s picture was taken and used for the article by The Shade Room without their consent. Separately, the plaintiff requests injunctive remedy, compensatory damages, a TSR retraction, and an apology.

Kogan was initially sued by 50 Cent in September 2022. The Shade Room was named in documentation submitted by Kogan’s attorneys last month. According to Kogan’s attorneys, “Plaintiff is not entitled to relief against Defendants as Plaintiff has failed to properly allege against the infringing party, namely The Shade Room.” The snapshot was taken from Kogan’s social media accounts by The Shade Room without Kogan’s knowledge or approval. The Shade Room published the article, and Plaintiff incorrectly attributed to Defendant The Shade Room’s activities. If no agreement is made prior to the start of the proceedings, the lawsuit involving 50 Cent will be tried in July 2023.
